Roey Ficaro

Roey Ficaro LCSW, CYT has been a practitioner of yoga for over twenty years. She is certified; registered with the yoga alliance and an Anusara–Inspired level teacher.  Roey met her teacher John Friend 10 years ago who introduced her to Anusara Yoga. There was an instant recognition that her life path was taking a turn and decided to dive into this brilliant system which incorporates Universal Principles of Alignment and the Tantric based philosophy of Intrinsic Goodness.  Roey’s open-hearted, nurturing, playful style of teaching is enriched by her studies of Yoga Therapy, Thai Yoga Bodywork, Meditation, Hypnotherapy and  Somatic Experience.  In addition Roey works as a body/mind/spirit psychotherapist. She was instrumental in creating a Wellness Center at SUNY Purchase offering substance abuse prevention, yoga, meditation and Holistic Counseling to the student body.  Classes are well attended and entitled “Yoga for a Natural High.” Roey’s highest intention is to invite others to tap into a deeper place of the body’s inner wisdom and learn to move from within, with more freedom, physical comfort and fullness. As our bodies open and align our hearts open as well to our true nature of unlimited joy. Roey holds so much gratitude in her heart  for her teachers, John Friend, Todd Norian, Amy Ippoliti, Susan Rubin, Paul Muller-Ortega, Nevine Michaan and  other gifted teachers too numerous to mention.
