You Can Only Call it Practice, if You Are Making an Effort to Pay Attention ~ With Beryl Bender Birch

Saturday March 6, 2010 (This is a Past Event)

Beryl Bender BirchPart I, 10am-12:00pm: Learn to use the three techniques of bandhas, breath, and drishti to catapult your own practice beyond asana to the outer edges of your spiritual potential. These three aspects of yoga practice are not just incidental additions to asana, they are profound and powerful aids to the development of mindfulness, and designed (thousands of years ago) to bring the attention into focus in the here and now. That alone is where we find lasting Joy and the true experience of yoga. Beryl’s teachings of this brilliant methodology bring together like-minded souls on the journey from self centeredness and simple survival to the enlightened yoga experience of connectedness with all things. Mostly asana (vinyasa style) with some discussion.

Part II, 2-4:00pm: Uncover the secret teachings of classical yoga’s inner limbs encoded in the Yoga Sutra. Join Beryl and like minded friends for an enlightening discussion of this classical text. This is fun. Lively, not boring, everyone reads and contributes and gives interpretation - some lecture – mostly discussion!!! Bring your best questions and your favorite copy of the Yoga Sutra.
